Snow Covers Bryce Canyon Area in a Thick Blanket

Heavy snow hit Garfield County Tuesday afternoon and picked up again early Wednesday morning so that residents, especially near Bryce Canyon awoke to an extraordinary winter wonderland outside.

During that time, Bryce Canyon National Park received around 15.5 inches of snow.

All of Bryce Canyon Country is under a winter weather advisory. The area is likely to receive three to eight more inches of snow before Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

The rest of Garfield County and Piute and Wayne counties should expect some snow as well between now and Saturday.

Though winter weather travel can be inconvenient, the snow is definitely a boon for Utah, which entered the water year with a pretty slow start at 69% of normal.
