The Highway 12 Music Festival held its second annual event on the weekend of June 11, with performances in Tropic, Boulder and Escalante — both at Ranch Dog Kitchen, and the park stage.
The festival featured both local musicians and those from abroad, across genres ranging from classical music performed by the Escalante String Quartet, to classic rock performed by The Hall Brothers Band of Kentucky.
The final performance on Saturday evening was by Peter Breinholt of Salt Lake City. He and his band are pictured in the photo above, performing to a crowd of some 100 people in the park that night.
The festival was started last year by Ted Hinckley of Sanpete County, and he was back to run it again this year by coordinating all the musicians and running the sound board during the performances.
Before Hinckley’s involvement on Highway 12, he founded the Kanab Music Festival. But his main work is producing music for the film industry, where to date, he has been credited in nearly 100 films since 1991.
