BRYCE, Utah (June 8, 2023) — As part of Bryce Canyon National Park’s centennial celebration this summer, The Piano Guys performed near Bryce Canyon’s rim for an audience of over 4,000 people!
The concert began with a show from the local Bryce Canyon Wranglers, who play at Ebenezer’s Barn and Grill every night. The band paid tribute to many well-known country songs, as well as performed their own tunes, like “Truck” and “Helluva Place to Lose a Cow.”
The show ended with a new song: “Serenity of the Centuries,” a tribute to Bryce Canyon for its 100 years as a protected place.
Two ‘Dorky Dads’ Capture the Significance of Bryce
The Piano Guys then took the stage. Years ago The Piano Guys began as a creative marketing campaign for a piano store. They brought in Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson and have now become a viral music group with a successful YouTube channel and worldwide following. And, in case you were wondering, the piano store is reopened as a successful online store.
The two “dorky dads” playing piano and cello have been inspiring audiences ever since. At Bryce Canyon, The Piano Guys played some favorites, from Jon’s “All of Me” to “The Cello Song” arranged by Steve. They even brought a local violin studio on stage to play “Beethoven’s Five Secrets.”
Certainly, though, the Piano Guys did more than entertain. They, like everyone else in Bryce that day, were celebrating the beauty of this amazing place. The concert brought locals and tourists together in a tribute to the beauty of God’s creations in Bryce Canyon. The final song (before an unexpected encore) was “Fight Song” mixed with “Amazing Grace.” Bryce Canyon was even more beautiful as it rang with the sounds of piano and cello that night.
Writing about their mission, The Piano Guys wrote on their website, “Our mission will always be to produce music videos that inspire, uplift, and make the world a better place. If we can make a positive impact in even one person’s life it has all been worth it to us.”
Well, that night was worth it.
