On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Tyler Whitesides attended Panguitch Elementary School from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. He showed the books, Janitors School of Garbage, The Wishmakers, The Wishbreaker, and Magic’s Most Wanted, also the series Janitors and Ardor Benn.
Students were allowed to bring three people to this event each. Around 50 people attended this event. Some of the activities included a costume contest, an illustration contest, book signing, and a pizza and ice cream party.
The costume party had students dress up as their favorite character from the book. Students then wrote down who they thought did the best and put it into a voting box. Next the votes were counted. Finally, the winner was announced and won a floating robot ball.
For the illustration competition all students drew a part of the book. Then the pictures were hung up and had a pocket attached. Next students put their ticket into the pocket of their favorite illustration. Finally whoever had the most tickets won a squirt gun.
At the book signing Tyler Whitesides signed both books and posters of his new book Janitors School of Garbage. In almost every book he signed, he also drew an object that matched the story. One of the students, Adalyn Peterson, said, “Tyler Whitesides is very creative.”
Tyler Whitesides’ bestselling series, Janitors, is about Spencer Zumbro and his crazy ideas that there are mysterious things in the halls of Welcher Elementary School. One day he sees one of the janitors, Marv, trying to capture one of the creatures he’s been talking about. He realizes that Welcher Elementary School is more mysterious than he thought. Spencer along with his friend Daisy try to save the school and possibly the world while trying to find out what the janitors know. They have to work with them and against them.
Tyler Whitesides is still young and ready to write some more books.
