New in Cannonville: Water Tank and Cell Tower

Cannonville has been lucky enough to receive two new building projects this year: a water tank and a cell tower.

Water Tank

On October 21 Cannonville residents received word that their well was down, and it would not be pumping water until Monday October 24. Work had already been done on building a new water tank, starting back in April, but the old one was now giving out.

Over that weekend members of the community were urged to conserve water inside their homes, “and no watering outside.”

Repairs were made on Monday, but the water storage tank was still in need of replacement.

Currently a new water tank is being built lower down next to the road. The project’s description says it includes “the construction of a 300,000 gallon culinary water tank and a water distribution line north of Cannonville.”

This has resulted in some construction near the road on Highway 12 between Cannonville and Tropic. Fortunately it has not slowed traffic through the area.

Not only is Cannonville getting a new water tank, it is also getting a cell tower!

This tower is being built near the edge of town toward the Paria River wash. It has not yet been activated, and it could be some time before the tower blesses us with its service.
