It was a good month to be a Panguitch Bobcat!

Celebrating Each Other in Cross Country

The girls cross country team placed first, second, third, and eleventh at state. We scored a total of 17 points! Everyone on our team ran very well.

Throughout the season, we all worked very hard with the help of our coaches. I admire Danny a lot. He is always very positive! Running would have been much more difficult without Danny encouraging us every step of the way.

Our team has helped each other throughout our struggles and celebrated each other’s successes! I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this team and for the friendships I have made throughout the past four years.

One thing I love about this team is our thoughtfulness. Before our race, we made a poster for Hazel, a little girl with heart problems who recently discovered she also has cancer. We hope that our team showing our support might help her fight through her medical treatments. Running for Hazel made me even more grateful that I am healthy enough to run and do other physical activities.

Recognizing Success in Volleyball

The volleyball team took second place in the state tournament. Some people might say it was a complete loss. It does suck to lose, and a lot of tears were shed.

However, I think this year was a success! Everyone saw how much our team fought and the desire we had. Our team became a family. We learned so much more than just volleyball skills. We learned how to work together, be leaders, learn from each other and our mistakes, and work hard. These things can help us throughout the rest of our lives.

Mr. Norris and Ann Merie are excellent coaches. We couldn’t have accomplished these things without them. We had an excessive amount of fun and made so many memories during the season. Even though we took second place, it is still an outstanding accomplishment.

I’m proud to be a Bobcat. I will miss running and playing volleyball with our illustrious teams, primarily because of the friendships made throughout the years. I know the Bobcats will continue to impress everyone in Panguitch and the surrounding areas.
