Third Year in a Row!
After running hard all year, the Panguitch girls once again captured the state title at the cross country championship Tuesday.
The race took place on a grassy course in Rose Park, Salt Lake City. As teams lined up to run, gray clouds crossed the sky. But the clouds and the sprinkling rain didn’t dampen these athletes’ spirits as they warmed up for another exciting meet.
Panguitch’s Adelaide Englestead, Tabetha Henrie and Brooke Albrecht took the first, second, and third places respectively, all finishing within 20 seconds of each other. This, along with some very good scores on the rest of the team, secured the team’s third consecutive win! This is also the seventh win in the last 10 years for the Panguitch girls cross country team.
Shandi Syrett from Bryce Valley also placed in the top ten, placing seventh, and finishing a little over a minute after Brooke Albrecht crossed the finish.
