Bryce Valley Athletes Announce Plans to Run in College

Excitement is buzzing around Bryce Valley this summer as not one but two track athletes announce their plans to run at a college level.

Brock Syrett just joined Southern Utah University’s Track and Field doing distance running. His mom, Luciene Syrett, says they are all super excited. They were hesitant to brag about Brock but made it clear that they are so proud of what he is doing.

Miles Roberts, another on of Bryce Valley’s athletes, just joined Utah Valley University’s Track and Field.

These boys had a very good track season. Both Brock and Miles came home with first place medals after the state track meet. Brock won the 1600 and 3200 meters, and Miles won the 800 meter and placed in the 400 meter.

These athletes’ accomplishments are a pretty big deal not only for these two young men and their families, but also for Bryce Valley’s track team as a whole. It is the first time a Bryce Valley runner has signed Division 1 (meaning with one of the bigger colleges in Utah) since 2007, when Levi Lefevre joined Weber State’s cross country team. And this time there are two!

Congratulations to Brock and Miles and their coaches and parents! It took a lot of hard work and perseverance to get here.
