Every year Panguitch residents and local businesses have the opportunity to join together in our annual scarecrow contest. This contest allows for residents to compete with one another by displaying their most creative scarecrow outside their home or business the entire month of October. Everyone who chooses to participate will get a “goodie bag” as a prize, while the prize for the winner remains a secret this year.
Scarecrow displays can be found at the Garfield County Courthouse, The Drug Store and Small Town Sips, Pink Polka-Dot, Kenny Rays, the Post Office, NAPA, Thomas Auto Repair, Orton Farm Center, Desert Grill, the Thrift Store, Netties Vintage Trailer Resort, the school district building, the Purple Sage, Best Host Inn and Bobcat Towing.
This year there is a wide variety of really awesome displays! I encourage each of you to gather with your family and go look at each one and participate in the Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt, which will come out this week … so if you read this article, then you have a good start!
Take your completed scavenger hunt outline to the Halloween Carnival to receive a free prize as well. This competition is yet another Panguitch City Event that works to bring not only our community together, but also the families within.
Here at The Byway, we thank everyone who puts in their time and effort to make these events possible.
