Hello Byway readers! It’s the last Monday in January, and it is Wayne High School’s homecoming week. Here are some other significant events happening this week:
- Monday, January 27 — Garfield County public hearing for road name change at the Garfield County Fair Building at 1:30 p.m.
- Saturday, February 1 — Panguitch Ice Fishing Derby at Panguitch Lake from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration required ahead of time. Register here.
Weather:
The National Weather Service shows partly sunny weather today at Bryce Canyon Airport with a 40 percent chance of snow after 11:00 a.m. Snow accumulations of less than half an inch, and later closer to inch are possible. There is a high near 33 degrees Fahrenheit. The low is around 15 tonight.
Tuesday snow after 11:00 a.m. is likely. And there is a 40 percent chance of snow Wednesday.
Thursday through the rest of the week, the weather should be mostly clear and sunny, sometimes cloudy, with a high near 49 degrees Saturday.

- Garfield Commission, Monday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. @ 55 South Main Street, Panguitch. The public hearing will be afterwards at the Fair Building.
- Panguitch City, Tuesday, January 28 at 5:30 p.m. @ the Panguitch City Office /Library Conference Room, 25 South 200 East, Panguitch.
