Monday News Plonk: Snow and Road Name Change Hearing

Hello Byway readers! It’s the last Monday in January, and it is Wayne High School’s homecoming week. Here are some other significant events happening this week:

  • Monday, January 27 — Garfield County public hearing for road name change at the Garfield County Fair Building at 1:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 1 — Panguitch Ice Fishing Derby at Panguitch Lake from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration required ahead of time. Register here.

Weather: 

The National Weather Service shows partly sunny weather today at Bryce Canyon Airport with a 40 percent chance of snow after 11:00 a.m. Snow accumulations of less than half an inch, and later closer to inch are possible. There is a high near 33 degrees Fahrenheit. The low is around 15 tonight.

Tuesday snow after 11:00 a.m. is likely. And there is a 40 percent chance of snow Wednesday.

Thursday through the rest of the week, the weather should be mostly clear and sunny, sometimes cloudy, with a high near 49 degrees Saturday.

Public meetings:

  • Garfield Commission, Monday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. @ 55 South Main Street, Panguitch. The public hearing will be afterwards at the Fair Building.
  • Panguitch City, Tuesday, January 28 at 5:30 p.m. @ the Panguitch City Office /Library Conference Room, 25 South 200 East, Panguitch.
