This is an old news article from a previous year. The results in this article are from Piute County’s 2022 midterm elections. To read the election results from 2023, go to 2023 General Election Results.
The Piute County Midterm Election was fairly uneventful. Most candidates ran unopposed and won 100% of the vote. The only exception to this rule is in the second spot for Piute School Board.
The results are as follows:
Piute County Commission Seat A Scott G. Dalton: 697 |
Piute County Commission Seat B William Roy Talbot: 702 |
Piute County Clerk/Auditor Kali Gleave: 748 |
Piute County Sheriff Marty Scott Gleave: 697 |
Piute County School District 1 Erin Jensen: 164 |
Piute County School District 2 Ricky C. Dalton: 121 Trevor L. Barnson: 56 |
Piute County School District 3 Teresa A. Morgan |
Ricky Dalton was able to hold onto his seat on the school board. In his continued service Dalton offers a love for kids, a “great deal of experience working on the school board” and an overall continuity to the schools in Piute County.
Trevor Barnson chose to run against Dalton because he felt that parents’ voices were not being heard. He hoped for a “fresh perspective” on the school board. He did pull just under a third of the vote in Piute County, but was unable to displace the incumbent.
