Panguitch has a young man who is currently serving as an intern in Washington, D.C. Cairo Houston has chosen to do a semester-long internship through Dixie State College Institute of Politics and the Hinckley Institute of Politics based at the University of Utah.
Cairo is serving in the office of Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy of California’s 23rd District. McCarthy is currently the House Minority Leader in the United States House of Representatives.
Cairo credits his acceptance as an intern to some of his political activity while attending Panguitch High School. He was active in the Teenage Republicans (TARs) program, serving as both Garfield County TARs Chairman and Utah State TARs Chairman while in high school. He was also active in debate while attending Panguitch High School. And was part of two State Champion teams.
Cairo is the son of Eric and Tamara Houston from Panguitch, Utah, and is currently a Sophomore at Dixie State University.
