Running on the evenings of April 6-9, the students of Bryce Valley High School, under the direction of Pete and Beverly Peterson, performed their annual musical production — this time with Happy Days.
With music and lyrics by Paul Williams based on the book by Garry Marshall (2007), the play takes its audience back to the simpler times of 1959 high school.
Alex G. and Anne O. played the bickering Cunninghams. Rylee P. (Joanie) and Mason B. (Richie) played their two high-school aged children. Dallen P., playing The Fonz, danced and sang and fell in love with Amanda C. as Pinky. Loyd R. played Arnold, the owner of the diner where everything happens, and Mason A. played Chachi. Eli B. and Oscar W. played Potsie and Ralph Malph, respectively, in a bromance trio with The Fonz. Finally, Mckay P. and Luis C. played the notorious Malachi brothers.
Mr. Nathan Platt and Melinda Overson worked with the kids on the songs. And Holly Willis returned this year with fun choreography within this delightful story.
Bryce Valley put on a wonderful show that anyone ages 9 to 99 would have enjoyed. Its fast-paced music, Elvis impressions and wrestling match kept audiences laughing. And the 50s costumes and love story had them reminiscing happy days in Bryce Valley.
